Business Audit

One score for your whole online presence. Then we fix it.

Most audits stop at a report. Business Audit checks your website, AI visibility, reviews, social, security and privacy readiness, carries out the fixes you approve, and re-checks every month so you can watch the score climb.

What we check

Seven areas, one view

01

Website

Titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemaps, page speed and broken links.

02

AI visibility

Whether assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini mention and recommend you, AI-readable summaries, which AI crawlers are allowed in, and AI search traffic.

03

Google Business Profile & reviews

Completeness, accuracy and how you're presented locally.

04

Social & YouTube

Bios, links, consistency, and whether your accounts send people back to your site.

05

Newsletter & ads

Sign-up, advertise and sponsor pages: the places revenue starts.

06

Security

A safe, read-only check that flags outdated software versions with known exploits.

07

Privacy readiness

Privacy policy, cookie consent and whether trackers load before consent. Readiness, not legal certification.

What you get

Diagnosis and repair, not just a PDF

One clear score

An overall score plus a score for each area, so you know where you stand.

A prioritised fix list

Ranked by impact and urgency, with security issues first.

Fixes carried out

Once you approve them, we make the changes. Each is logged with before-and-after evidence and can be undone.

Monthly re-checks

A fresh audit every month, with the score trend and alerts when something changes.

Your short list

The few things only you can do, like granting access or making a decision.

How it works

Audit, approve, fix, re-check

  1. 01

    Audit

We score every area and rank what to fix.

  2. 02

    You approve

    Nothing changes without your say-so.

  3. 03

    We fix

Each change is logged with evidence and can be undone.

  4. 04

    We re-check

Monthly, with the trend and alerts.

Proof

Tested on our own publications first

Business Audit was built and run across our own portfolio before we offered it to anyone else. These are the numbers.

Football Bloody Hell · footballbh.net

From a 34 to a 48, with the privacy and AI file fixed on the live site

An independent football history site with strong writing but a weak whole-business score: thin trust pages, broken crawl behaviour, empty category copy, almost no AI readiness, and a social account that never said the brand name.

What we found

  • Overall score 34, AI readiness 29 (14 Oct 2026 baseline).
  • Privacy policy was a draft that redirected to the homepage; no cookie banner.
  • Every missing URL redirected to the homepage, so broken links never showed as 404s.
  • 16 indexable pages had no meta description.
  • /llms.txt (the AI-readable site summary) was missing or redirected.
  • AI-mention panel, a single starting-point check on 14 Oct 2026: named on 0 of 17 generic questions, and only on the three brand questions (3/20 overall).
  • The social bio was personal and stale and never said “Football Bloody Hell”.

What we fixed

  • Published a full privacy policy and cookie policy; switched on a consent banner that holds analytics until the visitor agrees.
  • Turned off the “send every 404 home” behaviour and put proper redirects in place where needed.
  • Wrote real descriptions for the main categories; filled meta descriptions on home, shop, contact, advertise and related pages (16 → 2 pages still missing a description).
  • Set organisation markup and the social profile on the site; fixed the homepage H1; repaired a placeholder internal link.
  • Published a working /llms.txt with production links only (later check: 119 links, all on footballbh.net — pass).
  • Prepared new social bios, ready to paste.

World Pickleball Magazine · worldpickleballmagazine.com

Sixteen live fixes in one afternoon — and an AI file still pointing at a dead staging site

A live magazine with real traffic, but key pages had empty search snippets, player tag pages had no intros, the podcast menu pointed at a redirect, and the file AI assistants read still linked to an old staging host.

What we found

  • Contact, Advertise, Privacy and Terms had empty meta descriptions.
  • Six major player tags (including Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters) had empty intros.
  • Two Podcast menu items pointed at /category/podcast/ (301) instead of /podcast/ (200).
  • No organisation markup or logo in the homepage structured-data graph; social profiles empty in site settings.
  • /llms.txt returned 200, but all 22 links pointed at a dead staging host, dated 26 May 2026 — a full fail for AI readiness.
  • Privacy readiness later scored 62: a privacy policy exists, but analytics loads with no consent banner.

What we fixed

  • Wrote meta descriptions for Contact, Advertise, Privacy and Terms.
  • Added intro paragraphs on six player tag pages.
  • Pointed both Podcast menu items at /podcast/.
  • Uploaded a square logo and a default share image; set organisation markup to “World Pickleball Magazine” with the logo.
  • Connected the magazine’s social and podcast profiles as organisation social profiles.

Still open

  • Regenerate /llms.txt so all links point at the live domain.
  • Confirm the footer YouTube target.
  • Cookie banner so analytics does not load before consent.
  • Confirm PHP version in hosting (hidden publicly — not cleared as safe).

Ronnie Dog Media portfolio · eight owned titles

Same scorecard on eight sites: AI files, PHP exposure and privacy gaps in one pass

Prove Business Audit on our own network first — one method, one evidence trail — before selling it.

What we found

  • AI summary file (llms.txt): Football Bloody Hell pass (119 production links). World Pickleball Magazine fail (22/22 staging). Five titles missing the file. One title not serving.
  • PHP security (passive, version-only): no site confirmed exposed. Two WordPress titles hide the PHP version, so they are scored unknown, not safe.
  • Privacy readiness: Football Bloody Hell 100. World Pickleball Studio 80 (thin policy). World Pickleball Magazine 62 (analytics before consent). Four of eight titles had no privacy policy.
  • AI crawlers: every live site allows the major AI bots in; traffic volume not yet measured.

What we fixed

  • Ran the same read-only checks across all eight titles; nothing live changed in this pass.
  • Applied deep fix packs on Football Bloody Hell and World Pickleball Magazine, each with a full before/after log and undo path.
  • Logged the owner-only next steps: PHP versions in hosting, privacy policies on the four bare sites, cookie banner on the magazine, regenerate the magazine AI file.

Access & trust

What we need, and how we handle it

Narrowest access

Usually an admin login such as a WordPress application password, or access to the site's code. Optional: DNS, hosting logs, social logins. Each report says exactly what its fixes need.

Stored securely, revoked after

Credentials are kept in a vault, never sent by email or chat, and you can revoke them whenever you like.

Clear limits

The security check is read-only, not a penetration test. Privacy findings are readiness, not legal advice or certification. We report AI mentions; we don't promise rankings.

Questions

Business Audit FAQ

Do I need to give you my passwords to start?+

No. The first audit runs on public information. Access is only needed once you've approved fixes, and we'll tell you exactly what.

Can changes be undone?+

Yes. Every change is logged with before-and-after evidence and can be rolled back.

What is AI visibility?+

Whether AI assistants mention and recommend your business when people ask, and whether your site is set up to be read by them.

Is the privacy check legal advice?+

No. It's a readiness check that highlights gaps for you or your advisers to act on.

How much does it cost?+

It depends on the size of the site and the package. Send us your website and goals and we'll quote.
